3) THE FOUNDER SPOTLIGHT

How did you ends up in voice?
Honestly, I never expected to be working in voice. My background is in cybersecurity. My team and I were running a startup in that space when we stumbled upon a massive, growing problem in late 2024: voice phishing, or 'vishing'. Our clients were getting swamped with these attacks. We saw reports showing vishing had jumped over 400% in just six months. The attackers had started using more sophisticated voice technology to make their scams incredibly convincing and scalable, and companies were struggling. They couldn't effectively test which employees were vulnerable, and their training methods, like watching videos, just weren't adequate for real-world, high-pressure phone calls. It struck me that if this new tech was supercharging the threat, maybe it could also be the solution. That was the spark. So we quickly built a platform that uses AI voice agents for good, running realistic vishing simulations. It lets employees practice facing these attacks in a safe space and gives companies a clear view of where they need to improve. It’s really about turning the attackers' own tools back on them to build a stronger defense.
Whats your struggle or moment of joy with voice
The joy is definitely seeing the "aha!" moment for an employee. There's nothing better than watching someone go from being tricked by a simulated call to confidently spotting the red flags and reporting the next one. It’s when you know you’ve given them a practical skill that genuinely protects them. The struggle is that the underlying technology, for all its power, is still maturing. It can be complex and sometimes unpredictable. You can have a prompt that guides the AI agent perfectly ninety-nine times, and then on the hundredth, it goes off in an unexpected direction. It serves as a constant reminder that this space, while evolving fast, is still in its infancy. It requires a huge amount of quality assurance and validation to ensure consistency and reliability.
Where do you think voice is going
I think we're on the cusp of voice AI becoming virtually indistinguishable from humans. I’m talking about conversations with almost zero latency, where the AI understands not just words but context and intent, and responds intelligently. The technology is moving incredibly fast. But that power is a double-edged sword. The rise of sophisticated open-source AI models means this capability will be accessible to everyone, including malicious actors. We're going to see it widely abused for scams and disinformation on a scale we haven't seen before. That presents a massive challenge.
