The Good

Google Maps is receiving a substantial upgrade with Gemini AI integration, introducing new voice tools, clearer navigation, and faster traffic alerts. These enhancements will make the navigation experience more intuitive and responsive, allowing drivers to interact with the app through more natural voice commands while keeping their attention on the road. This implementation demonstrates how voice AI can meaningfully improve everyday tools we already rely on.

Arsène Lavaux Santonacci

Arsène Lavaux Santonacci is an accomplished entrepreneur and expert in growth hacking. Currently serving as Founder and CEO of SilenceSilence.ai, Arsène focuses on helping individuals regain their natural voice.

Q1: How did you end up in voice?

"I trained as an AI engineer at CentraleSupélec and built my career at the crossroads of telecom and AI optimizing mobile networks, launching one of the first broadband wireless ISPs in France, and leading communications projects from satellites to Fortune 50 triple-play systems in the U.S. My growth-hacking work with AI startups kept me at the cutting edge. The turning point came when I reconnected with my childhood friend Richard, a former goalkeeper like me, who had lost his voice to ALS. That personal mission restoring Richard's own natural voice became SilenceSilence.ai."

Q2: What's your struggle or moment of joy with voice?

"The biggest struggle was that early AI voice models were only in English. To build our multi-agent restoration expertise, we first had to serve patients in English before we could help Richard in French. The greatest joy came when we finally did: hearing Richard's own voice restored in his native French, giving him back his identity and presence with his family."

Q3: Where do you think voice is going?

"Voice is becoming a new identity layer and a standard of care on-device, private, provenance-secured, and consent-driven. In healthcare, restoring a patient's own voice will be as essential as a prosthetic. But beyond medicine, voice becomes the interface to our digital twins and multi-agent ecosystems, extending who we are into the digital world. With BCI, the next frontier is thought-to-speech communication without even moving your lips."
